Cheque is presented at Geoff Moulder Leisure ComplexThe Boston Big Local Community Chest panel has provided £1,000 of funding to support two new triathlon events organised by Boston Borough Council to help improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.

The first event is a Children’s Indoor Triathlon, which will be held at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex on Saturday 9 July. Young participants aged 8 years and over will complete ten minutes each of swimming, cycling and running and raise money for the Neonatal Unit at Pilgrim Hospital.

Jody Raggo, the Boston Big Local Community Chest Facilitator said: “We hope the triathlon events will encourage people of all ages to improve their physical fitness and get involved in ongoing sports activities.

“The Adult Triathlon is planned for Sunday 30 October, when participants will be asked to complete 20 minutes each of swimming, cycling and running.”

The cheque for £1,000 was presented by Boston Big Local Chair, Richard Tory, to Frances Taylor of Boston Borough Council, Councillor Claire Rylott, and Sarita Barton from Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex (pictured above).

Anyone wishing to sign up for the events should pick up an application form from the Reception at Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex. £10 minimum sponsorship will be required.
