marathonchequeFollowing a amazing first year for the Boston Marathon (UK) in 2016, the event will be back again in 2017 on 17 April (Easter Monday bank holiday). Boston Big Local will once again be the main sponsor for the marathon, helping to promote health and wellbeing in Boston and raise the town’s profile.

The Boston Marathon (UK) offers the flattest course in the country and it runs on the same day as the famous Boston Marathon in the USA. Cash prizes are on offer for full and half marathon winners and the winners of the relay.

Once again the marathon will start at Boston Market Place at 9am and end at Boston College. Anyone interested in entering can find full details including entry fees and a plan of the route on the Boston Marathon UK website at www.bostonmarathon.co.uk. The registration deadline is 3 April 2017.

Young people are encouraged to join in the fun

On the same day as the Boston Marathon (UK) there will also be a separate 3 mile fun run for young people aged between 12 and 18 years. The fun run will be facilitated by the Boston Marathon Association and entrants can register at www.bostonmarathon.co.uk (click on the ‘Fun Run’ tab for more information).
