This is Botolph, the Boston Big Local Bear, who will be taking part in the Boston Royal Bear Challenge on Sunday 12 June when he will abseil down Boston Stump. In fact, brave Botolph is lined up to go first!
The event will take place between 2pm and 4pm on 12 June. It has been organised by The Parish of Boston and is sponsored by Boston Big Local. This year, the challenge has a Royal theme to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday!
Over 50 bears are expected to abseil down the tower and there will also be plenty of family activities and entertainment in and around the church, including a Teddy Bear’s Picnic, craft stalls and refreshments.
If you know a bear who would be interested in taking part in this event you can get full details of how to sign up at the Parish of Boston website.
Meanwhile, Botolph is going to sit back, relax and psych himself up for the challenge!
