At our Community Chest Panel meeting in May, we considered many applications for funding.

From the completed Simple Five Minute Application Forms, the criteria we look for from applicants are that they can demonstrate how our funding will support the BBL Area.

The applications we agreed to fund this quarter are:

Boston Tours – £1500

For marketing materials such as leaflets and posters and Facebook advertising to promote walking tours around Boston.

Carers First – £750

To support young carers living in the local Boston community who take on physical and emotional duties that adults
usually handle.

BOS Musical Theatre Group – £1500

The BOS Musical Theatre Group are keen to get going after the pandemic.

Taking place at Blackfriars Arts Centre, Spain Lane in the Boston Big Local area, BOS Musical Theatre Group proposed a musical production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a hilarious farce.

Heritage Lincolnshire – £522

The funding will pay for 2 days of work by Heritage Lincolnshire’s internal web developer to build the website
and digital resources to promote walks in BBL area.

Boston Samaritans – £1500

For events to recognise the efforts of the many Samaritans volunteers and supporters over the 50 years there has been a branch in Boston.
Any 50th-anniversary events will be held in the BBL area.

Boston Community Runners – £500

To purchase some Boston Community Runners Feather Flags along with the Water Base Holders and the Flag Holder Bases that go onto flat ground and are held in place by the wheel of a vehicle thus giving the option of all bases covered! The flags will advertise the running club in the club colours and will act as an advertisement when at events and also as a landmark to aim for (ie meet back at the club flag).

We are really proud to have supported these groups and look forward to more applications at our September panel meeting. – www.bostonbiglocal.co.uk/funding/
