On the 7th of September 2021, The BBL Community Chest and Events Panel met to discuss the applications at the final funding meeting of the year. The panel meets to consider the Community Chest and Events applications three times a year in January, May and September.

The causes the panel agreed to fund this time were:

Railway Athletic Football Club – £1500

Having taken over Boston United’s old York street ground they require a new mower after their old one packed before they could use it at their new ground.

Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre – £1250

An application for first aid equipment for community events that can help people learn the basics of life-saving first aid.

Boston and South Holland Talking Newspaper – £750

This wonderful service that, each week, reads and records the local newspaper and sends it to the many blind people in our area. Our funding will support the running of this fantastic service.

Arranging Community Events – £4500

A group called Arranging Community Events requested funding for an event in the marketplace that celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event. We agreed to ring-fence the money for this event in the hope that the team at Arranging Community Events can secure the rest of the funding they require from their other applications with other organisations.

If you would like us to consider your application for funding at our January 2022 meeting, it is so simple to apply for and can take less than 5 minutes to complete the application process – www.bostonbiglocal.co.uk/funding/
