The Community Events Grant Scheme panel met recently to consider the funding applications it has received. The scheme, which is funded by Boston Big Local and administered by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS), is designed to support events that draw people together in central Boston.
Three grants were made by the panel:
Unity in the Community, led by JUST Lincolnshire will receive a grant of £4,500. This will be used to deliver a series of workshops and activities leading to a main event in May 2016, to be held in the Stump and other local venues in the Big Local area.
£1,500 has been awarded to the Boston Lithuanian Community to organise a Shrove Tuesday event which will provide an opportunity to share cultural traditions. The event will take place in the Market Place, at the Blenkin Memorial and the Stump.
Finally, the Boston Town Team have been given £1,500 to run a food and health event at the Blenkin Memorial Hall in January 2016.
The next round of the Community Events Grant Scheme will be held in late February / early March 2016.
